What man is to believe concerning God
Question: How doth Christ execute the office of a prophet?
Answer: Christ executeth the office of a prophet, in revealing to us, by his word and Spirit, the will of God for our salvation. (John 1:18, 1 Pet. 1:10–12, John 15:15, John 20:31)
John 1:18 aNo one has seen God at any time; bthe only begotten God who is cin the bosom of the Father, dHe has explained Him.
1Pet. 1:10 ¶ aConcerning this salvation, the prophets, who bprophesied of the cgrace that would come to you, made careful searches and inquiries,
1Pet. 1:11 1inquiring to know what time or what kind of time athe Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He was bpredicting the sufferings of Christ and the glories 2to follow.
1Pet. 1:12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been declared to you through those who aproclaimed the gospel to you by bthe Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which cangels long to 1look.
John 15:15 “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for aall things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
John 20:31 but these have been written aso that you may believe that Jesus is the 1Christ, bthe Son of God; and that cbelieving you may have life in His name.
