Psalm 139 Series: God Made Me

Sermon entitled “God Made Me” by Alistair Begg of Truth for Life.

Where were we before we were born, and where will we go after we die? In Psalm 139, David provides the answer to these questions, proclaiming that we are the result of God’s creative handiwork, “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Not only this, but God has also designed us with purpose and has determined our days. Noting David’s response to these truths, Alistair Begg exhorts us to remember that the almighty God of design and determination is worthy of our praise, gratitude, and trust.

Psa. 139:13 ¶ For You aformed my 1inward parts; You bwove me in my mother’s womb.

Psa. 139:14 I will give thanks to You, for 1I am fearfully and wonderfully made; aWonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

Psa. 139:15 My 1aframe was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And bintricately woven in the cdepths of the earth;

Psa. 139:16 Your aeyes have seen my unshaped substance; And in bYour book all of them were written The cdays that were formed for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Psa. 139:17 ¶ How precious are Your athoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

Psa. 139:18 If I should count them, they would aoutnumber the sand. When bI awake, I am still with You.
